Description:

This course, hosted by Jackie F. Breland, is a fast-paced learning opportunity for managers of nonprofit organizations (NPO) to understand how they can assess the strength of their organization from a financial management perspective. This course will include a review through a case study approach of five key areas of NPO financial management: budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management and risk management.  Then, participants will bring it all together to learn how to assess the strength of their financial management processes and systems, so that they can target improvements in their own organizations.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand best practices in 5 key areas of nonprofit financial management: budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management and risk management
  • Learn how to apply those best practices in your own organization
  • Learn how to assess the strength of your financial management processes and systems in your own organization and how to target improvements on those systems for the future
