Job Title: Executive Director
Reports to: The President/Chief Executive Officer
Other key relationships: Maintain positive working relationship with volunteers, including volunteer leadership and Advisory Council, and external partners as directed
Summary: Serves as Executive Director responsible for the organizations achievement of its
mission and financial objectives, working under the general oversight of the President/Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities:
Board and Advisory Council/Strategic Plan
Staffs the Board of Directors and its Committees as directed.
Provides guidance and support to the Advisory Council and related committees, and monitors their progress
Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations
Develops policy and procedures as needed
Assists the President/CEO in development of the organizations long-range strategic plan which achieves its mission, and monitors that consistent and timely progress is made
Financial Management
Assists the Board in facilitating financial stability for the organization, implementing regular board review and analysis of financial information, proposing action when indicated
Creates and implements annual budgets, goals and objectives
Facilitates timely financial reports to the board, funders and key stakeholders
Administrates program grant awards
Ensures effective internal controls for the protection of organizational assets
Oversees the annual financial audit process
Fund Development
Assists with the development and implementation of the fund development plan: major, planned, capital, annual , endowment, grants
Assists The President/CEO in developing corporate partnerships
Leads preparation of grant requests
Provides guidance and support to Fundraising Committee
Oversees donor recognition and annual report
Oversees donor database and gift acknowledgement processes
Human Relations and Volunteer Management
Facilitates the employing, training, supervision and evaluation of personnel
Promotes broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the organizational work and coordinates work of key volunteer committees
Responsible for the implementation of the Volunteer Leadership Plan
Fosters a team environment; working with a wide variety of volunteers, members and staff
Marketing, Public Relations and Communications
Develops and implements an overall marketing and public relations plan
Develops and implements communications plan; internal and external
Ensures the organization and its mission, program, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to the public and all relevant stakeholders
Serves as back-up spokesperson to the public; maintaining positive and productive relationships with the media
Establishes good working relationships with community groups and organizations
Develops and oversees social media systems
Oversees website development and maintenance
Coordinates major events
Chapter and Membership Development
Oversees the development of quality educational and chapter meeting resources
Develops and implements plan for chapter recruitment, retention and sustainability
Provides leadership development to chapter leaders, working to ensure a positive team environment
Oversees member and chapter database systems and reporting functions, including data conversion from existing database to new Salesforce software
Coordinates annual Leadership Summit
Program Management
As directed by the President/CEO will build connections with international organizations and develop mutually enhanced relationships with program directors and recipients.
Ensures quality controls for program evaluation and monitoring systems
Oversees timely recipient and program feedback to board, leaders and members
Assists and advises the Program Selection Committee
Oversees travel program to visit international programs
Other
Develops strategic and collaborative alliances with key organization and affiliations as directed by President/CEO
Performs other responsibilities assigned by the President/CEO
Required Minimum Education, Experience and Skills: Holds a college degree and has worked for 10 years with at least 5 years in a senior management role, preferably with a non-profit. Has a thorough understanding of nonprofit organizational systems and finances. Has demonstrated success in marketing, communications, fund development, partnership building, as well as in strategic planning. Is comfortable in a Windows environment and proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, and has worked with various membership databases.
Work Environment/Requirements: Able to sit for periods of time, able to move light weight objects, able to travel distances for National and International meetings. Regular work week is 40 hours, with core office time of 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

Director sought to coordinate and supervise the activities of the Northeastern Rural Health Network, a nine-member collaboration of the health and human service providers in Chesterfield, Dillon and Marlboro Counties in South Carolina. Excellent communication, supervision and knowledge of health care system are required. Experience working with executive boards, writing and managing grant programs and working with multi-organizational projects is preferred.
