Our Commitment to Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy
we provide this notice explaining our online information
practices and the choices you can make about the way your
information is collected and used. It is our general policy to
collect and store only personal information that our members and
visitors knowingly provide.
What Information Do We Collect?
Generally, we collect from visitors:
The e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via
e-mail, who subscribe to our e-mail lists or list servs
Information from your browser, including your IP address and
the page you visited, which is recorded in our web site server
logs. This data is analyzed internally to determine how to best
provide information to visitors to our web site. No personal
information is collected during the tracking process, only
aggregate data -- such as the number of hits per page
Information volunteered by the consumer such as purchase
information, registration information, membership information.
From Members, Friend Members and Supporters:
To gain access to members-only resources, these users may be
asked to provide some limited information. These data are
submitted voluntarily. User name or email and password may be
requested through the web site. Similar information may be
submitted to SCANPO through membership applications, conference
or seminar registrations or publication orders.
Cookies are pieces of information generated by a Web server
and stored in the user's computer, ready for future access.
Cookies are embedded in the HTML information flowing back and
forth between the user's computer and the servers. Cookies are
implemented to assist the sign on process in the members-only
section of the website.
SCANPO's Web site does not use "persistent cookies" or other
persistent tracking technology.
E-commerce Transactions
SCANPO utilizes viaKLIX to handle our online payment
services. When you join or renew SCANPO membership, register for
workshops, or purchase publications from SCANPOs web site, your
personal information is subject to viaKLIX's data collection

First Class or Priority Mail from the USPS
For all other activities and information exchanges on this
site, this privacy statement applies.
How Do We Use This Information?
To improve the content and usability of our web site and
e-commerce functions.
To notify members about updates to our web site, services,
advocacy issues and other member interest products.
Who Has Access To The Information We Collect?
We do not share the e-mail information collected with any
individual or other organizations.
SCANPO makes Member, Friends, Consultants and Supporter
contact information available through the appropriate directory
using its web site. SCANPO may incorporate that information into
the printed or electronic copy of the directory, also available
only to Members and Friends.
For those who voluntarily submit information to subscribe to
mailing lists, e-mail lists or e-mail groups, we use that
information to provide those services.
Restriction of Liability
The information provided in this privacy policy should not be
construed as giving business, legal or other advice or
warranting as fail proof, the security of the information
produced through www.scanpo.org.
Dispute Resolution
If for some reason you believe this site has not adhered to
these principles, please notify the SC Association of Nonprofit
Organizations e-mail at mhardy@scanpo.org. If our web pages are
not fully in compliance with our stated policies, they will be
corrected.

you do not want to receive e-mail from our organization.
If you supply us with your postal address online you may
receive periodic mailings from us with information on new

Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers online may
receive telephone contact from us with information regarding
orders they have placed online.
